Join us on this walk through the pages of Munich’s past. The charming Bavarian capital is thriving with a great variety of legacies, fruit of more than eight centuries of fascinating history. This tour is the perfect way of learning all about this beautiful city’s historical background while getting the chance to set eyes upon all of its most significant landmarks.

We set off from the marvellous Karlstor, an imposing mediaeval gate that stands proud in the heart of the city. At this point you will have become acquainted with the charismatic character that will be your guide for the day. Thanks to his well-versed knowledge on the history of Munich, will be your source of local know-how and amusing anecdotes.

The walking tour begins by taking you past the magnificent St Michael Church, where the remains of the legendary “Mad King” Ludwig II of Bavaria can be found. Continue then to the ample Marienplatz and, if you are in time, you can see its magical carillon’s mechanical choreography marking the hours. Here too you will see Munich’s graceful City Hall.

Another must-see church is the Frauenkirche and its uncanny mark of the devil. Other sights of the day include the Opera Square, the Feldherrnhalle – otherwise known as the Monument of the Bavarian General –, the Royal Residence and, of course, the wonderful Church of St Peter.
