Come with us and discover the historic city of Cordoba. Explore the beautiful network of small streets, alleys, squares and whitewashed courtyards arranged around the Great Mosque, reflecting the city's prominent place in the Islamic world during medieval times. Enjoy this guided walk as you learn all about this intriguing city. Allow yourself to be seduced by the scent of jasmine, rose and honeysuckle as you taste fine Montilla wine in a traditional courtyard.

The tour starts with a visit to the famous Mezquita, the massive former Great Mosque and now the city's Cathedral. Admire the forests of columns topped with Islamic-style red and white striped arches as you learn about the glory and importance that Cordoba held in medieval times, capital of an Empire stretching from the Atlantic to the Persian Gulf.

We'll explore the maze of narrow streets and alleys around the Mezquita the old Jewish Ghetto area where you'll find such typical streets as colourful Calleja de las Flores and tiny Calleja del Pañuelo. It is here that one Spain's few surviving synagogues is to be found.

Then we'll cross the Roman Bridge, spanning the waters of the Guadalquivir for over 2000 years, heading for the quarter of San Basilio. Here we'll pass by the magnificent Alcazar, a mediaeval Islamic fortress dating from the times of the Caliphate.
