Program details

Explore the incredible diversity that has shaped the face of Venice on this tour that takes you on a journey through the city’s oriental influences. Ever since one of Venice’s favourite sons, Marco Polo, established trade links with the Orient in the 13th century, the eastern atmosphere has always been present in the city. Visit Marco Polo’s house, the Cannaregio district, the Jewish ghetto and much more, including the opportunity to taste Venice’s best coffee at a historic roasting house.

Head to the famous Rialto Bridge to admire the stunning church of San Bartolomeo. Then witness the house where Marco Polo once lived and learn about his epic adventures to the Orient. Famously recorded in his travel writings, Polo’s 24 year journey through China, Indonesia, Persia and Mongolia established a regular trade route, which in turn added to the vast cultural diversity found in Venice.

Take in the Cannaregio district, home of the Jewish Ghetto where between sunset and dawn the Jewish residents were forbidden to leave for over 270 years. Admire the intricate architecture of the Abbey of Misericordia and the Church of Madonna dell’Orto before heading to the beautiful Palazzo del Camello.

Complete your tour with a fascinating and delicious stop at an authentic historic coffee roasting house. Savour the intense scents and flavours as you sample the very best coffee blends in the whole of Venice.
