Program details

Take advantage of your stay in Bangkok to visit the Royal Grand Palace, one of the city’s greatest tourist attractions. The golden-spired Royal Grand Palace is a fascinating complex of buildings at the heart of Bangkok and has been the official residence of the Royal Family of Siam (and later Thailand) since 1782. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha, part of the Royal Chapel which according to tradition holds supernatural powers, is the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. The Buddha itself was carved from a single piece of jade. The Grand Palace also houses the Wat Pho complex, renowned for its reclining Buddha, covered in gold leaf and which at 46 metres long and 15 metres high is the largest reclining Buddha in Thailand. Visitors traditionally leave coins in the recipients situated in the wall behind the Buddha and ask for a wish. You will also have the opportunity to take two optional excursions. In the first you can visit the city and the temples of Wat Traimit, Wat Pho and Wat Benchamabophit while in the second you can visit the Grand Palace and its canals.
