Program details

The cooking school of the prestigious Blue Elephant Restaurant in Bangkok is not the usual quick Thai cooking course that enables you to cook some typical dishes, but it's an introduction to traditional flavors, ingredients and cooking methods. The half-day class, available in the morning or afternoon, is the most suitable to understand in a professional and elegant way how some of the most famous Thai dishes are born. The half-day excursion will take place as follows:
- Departure from the hotel and transfer to the Blue Elephant Restaurant at Sathorn Rd.
- 08.45 - Arrival at the restaurant. Students will be greeted with a fresh herbal drink.
- 09:00 - Transfer to the BTS (Skytrain) to reach the nearby Bang Rak market. The chef will explain the usage of different types of fruits, vegetables and local spices. Back to the cooking school.
- 10:00 am - Arrival at the cooking school where a fresh herbal drink and a cool towel await you. The chef will illustrate 4 different dishes to be prepared. This is the theoretical part of the course. Each student will receive a booklet with the recipes of the day and a chef's apron with the Blue Elephant logo.
- 11:15 am - Learning about kitchen utensils in the rehearsal room. Each student has his own space and his wok, an indispensable pan for cooking Thai dishes. Assisted by the instructors, you learn to experiment with the local culinary techniques. The four dishes to be cooked change every day and always include an appetizer, a soup, a main course and an accompanying dish.
- 12:30 - The course ends. Every student will receive a certificate of participation and a souvenir.
- 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Lunch. Students consume the dishes prepared in a cheerful and convivial mood at the Blue Elephant Restaurant.
- Return to the hotel.

The afternoon course starts at 13:30 and ends at 17:30.
Notes: the course is available only in English but the guide will be a translator.
