Program details

Despite its smaller size, many of Bursa's Ottoman landmarks rival those of Istanbul. Best of all, this lush city, known as "Green Bursa", rests at the base of Mt. Uludag, a forested peak once thought to be the mythical Mt. Olympus.

Travel by ferry to Yalova, before taking a luxury coach to the city of Bursa, which dates back to the 2nd century B.C. The first capital of the Ottoman Empire, Bursa is one of the greatest treasure houses of Islamic architecture.

The first stop of the day will be at the Green Mosque and Green Mausoleum, both built by 5th Ottoman Sultan Mehmet Çelebi in the 15th century. Next, take the cable car up Uludag Mountain where you will be able to admire the magnificent views over the city from 2.486 metres and enjoy a barbecue lunch on the mountain before continuing with a visit to a beautiful old tree which is more than 600 years old.

On the way back to Istanbul, you will make a stop at one of the most famous Turkish delight factories, which Bursa is well known for.
