Z - The Wild South/East

Description

In the farthest south-east of Madagascar, Taolagnaro is rich in history. Portugueses arrived here in the 16th century, and you can still see the remains of the fortress they built in the middle of the verdant lake Vinanibe.

Situated between the east coast beaches and the great south, Taolagnaro offers you the opportunity to see several, different and contrasting types of landscape.
Do not miss the Lokaro Peninsula tour, by motor boat, along the inland natural channels, amid luxuriant vegetation, reaching the sea near Evatra village. From here you can explore beautiful deserted beaches, wide verdant plains, caves and cliffs pounded by the ocean waves.
The deciduous forests of the south are another big attraction of this region. These forests are inhabited by lemurs Catta, Sifaka and Fulvus Rufus.

Program

DAY 1 : > TAOLAGNARO
Welcome at the arrival at Taolagnaro airport and transfer to the hotel; setup in the hotel Talinjoo (standard room) or similar; then lunch in the hotel; in the afternoon, departure for the visit of the Nahampoina private reserve, where various kinds of lemurs, turtle, chameleons, birds and other kinds of endemic animals can be observed; back to the hotel at the end of the day; in evening, dinner and overnight in hotel.

DAY 2 : TAOLAGNARO: exccursion to Andohahela National Park
Breakfast in the hotel; departure by car along the road that leads to the deep Spiny Desert for an excursion in the Andohahela National Park , constituted by the thorny forest, where botanical rarities will be discovered as the palm Dypsis Decarii, Andansonia and Za baobab, Pachypodium (the bottle tree) and so many others; besides, the natural swimming pools and the lake Taravola where you can swim in clear water with no danger; have lunch picnic; continuation of the excursion to the village of Tsymelahy and according to the time at disposal, toward the dry forest of Mangatsiaka; late afternoon, back to Taolagnaro; in the evening dinner and overnight in hotel Talinjoo (standard room) or similar.

DAY 3 : TAOLAGNARO : exccursion to Lokaro Peninsula
After breakfast, departure for the excursion to the Lokaro Peninsula; departure by boat from the shore of Fararano lake; a lake zone of palms is crossed, banana tree, "ears of elephant", in a maze of channels; then an arm of the channel is crossed dominated by dense luxuriant forest; then finally you arrive to mangrove forest reaching the confluence with the Indian ocean near the village of Evatraha; hike along the coast, admiring granite massif and grasslands; from the tall hills the sight of the underlying territory is breathtaking, surely one of the most beautiful postcards of Madagascar; standstills during the walk with possibility of baths in the uncontaminated waters of the bay; have lunch picnic; back to Taolagnaro at the end of the day; in evening dinner and overnight in the hotel Talinjoo (standard room) or similar.

DAY 4 : TAOLAGNARO >
Breakfast in the hotel; morning at your disposal in the city of Taolagnaro; have lunch in the hotel; in the afternoon, transfer to the airport and flight to other destination.
