Escape the organised chaos of Hanoi and head into the bucolic countryside, admiring the pastoral scenes during the 2-hour drive to Ha Long Bay. There will be a brief stop along the way to use the restrooms.
Board the junk at Tuan Chau Marina in Ha Long City and receive a welcome drink for the cruise set sail for Ha Long Bay, famous for the spectacular limestone karsts jutting out of the peaceful green waters. The views are simply spellbinding as the boat winds among hundreds and hundreds of islets. Ha Long Bay, which means Bay of the Descending Dragon, is a Unesco World Heritage Site and was recently voted one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature in 2011.
Hear the legends and myths associated with this dreamlike bay then feast on the fabulous seafood lunch while cruising among the breathtaking scenery...what a way to spend the day! Soak up the majestic atmosphere from the top deck and enjoy the stunning views or relax below in comfortable surroundings.
After lunch you will have the chance to explore Sung Sot Cave, the biggest and most beautiful grotto in Halong. After that, visit Titop Island and climb up to the top for epic views of the Bay. Back on the boat, enjoy the majestic sunset with afternoon tea as you glide back to the harbour. Return to Hanoi by expressway in the late in the afternoon, where you have a chance to reflect on this memorable day.
