Il programma nel dettaglio

The Historic Downtown Pub Crawl features four bars in the old town of Houston. Locations vary each night but always start at The Cellar in the basement of Georgia’s Market, a restaurant, grocery store and bar inside the former home of an 1895 gambling parlour. With a history like that, you can be sure there are plenty of stories to be told.

Looking at today’s modern metropolis, it’s hard to believe Houston was once a Wild West frontier town where Mexicans, Native Americans, Yankees, Confederates and all sorts of adventurers and ne’er-do-wells mingled in saloons. Listen to tales of murder, gambling, brothels and ghosts from those days in the old town of Houston as you visit unique pubs around Market Square Park. This is a small urban oasis with restaurants, sculptures, memorials, and remains from old buildings and sidewalks. This spot is full of activity and of history of this city. Your local guide will show you all the points of interest and you will not miss a beat.

The park is surrounded by bars and pubs in historic buildings such as a wine bar in the Kennedy Bakery Building, a tailor shop during the day and bar at night, a local joint with a jukebox playing fifties tunes, a charity bar, and many other authentic Houston taverns. See sparkling chandeliers, select songs on old-fashioned jukeboxes, or talk to a tailor as you sip wine, beer, and designer cocktails inside buildings dating from 1861-1934.
